Community Outreach

2013 Projects

Use community resources from individuals and groups to provide services and support for older adults who need assistance to age in place successfully.

What We’ve Been Up To:

Each quarter we will sponsor a food, service, supply or monetary drive to benefit one of the area non-profits providing services to seniors

March 20th – “Where’s the Beef”

SCAIPC Members brought canned meats, chicken, tuna and other non-perishable foods loaded with protein. This drive benefited the Charleston Area Seniors and helped stock their food pantry.

June 19th – “Seniors Depend on Us!”

SCAIPC Members brought incontinence supplies to this meeting which were given to Trident Area Agency on Aging for distribution to community seniors who were in need.

September 18th – No Drive This Quarter

SCAIPC Members are encouraged to support the “Shucking for Seniors” Oyster Roast to benefit ITN Charleston.

Committee Initiatives:

Partner with other groups in the community to work on various outreach projects throughout the year that directly impact seniors in our community.

Grow the SCAIPC Outreach Fund and increase the number of request for assistance so that we can have a larger impact on seniors in our community.
